Most people in Ontario call the plan by its short name: OHIP. When Ontarians pay taxes, some of the money goes into this plan to pay for their health services. Doctors and other health care providers then bill OHIP for the services they provide to you.
You must apply for OHIP in person at a ServiceOntario centre.
